Today I want to share a few thoughts with you to encourage and build your faith. Faith is an incredibly precious thing. The enemy is always at work to undermine our faith and even snuff it out. We need to guard the faith we have and cultivate more! Life can be discouraging and full of difficulties and keeping our faith high and in good shape is not always easy. Faith is a shield against the enemies onslaught and it is the detonator that connects us to the unlimited power of God. It’s incredibly important to keep your faith high!
In Exodus 17:1-12 we read “So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up one on one side, one on the other–so that his hands remained steady till sunset.”
Moses’s hands represented his faith in God Almighty. As hands were up, his faith was connected to God, the enemy was driven back and defeated. As his arms grew tired and his faith diminished, the enemy gained ground. In a similar way in our lives and the circumstances of our lives it’s our faith in Christ’s finished work which enforces the victory that Christ has won in our lives. It’s important to keep our faith hands up!
There are times when we grow weary in faith and we need the encouragement and support of our friends to keep our faith up. It’s important to surround yourself with friends who will hold your hands up in those critical times. It’s also important as a friend to others that you make sure you encourage and build the faith of your friends! As Aaron and Hur held Moses hands up it became a victory for the whole nation. You could strengthen the faith of someone who will impact nations!
Jesus said in Luke 18:8 “ … when the Son of man comes will he find faith on the earth?” God knows life is full of challenges and that it is our faith that allows God to act and move in our lives. Jesus has paid for our complete salvation and victory in life and God is looking for us to believe. We are called to brig Christ’s victory to bear on every area of our lives and to do that we need to keep our faith high.
Maybe today you are struggling in faith, I want to encourage you to keep your eyes on God and not on your circumstances. Build up your faith by praying in the Holy Spirit. Spend time meditating on God’s Word and His promises for your life. Spend time in God’s Presence, your faith will rise Surround yourself with those who encourage your faith. Keep your faith hands high and as you do, know that God is fighting for you!
