There are times in our lives when we are under pressure, it seems like all of life’s hardships are bearing down on us. Sometimes it seems there is no hope in sight and we begin to buckle under the pressure and the heat of our circumstances. Today I am praying and believing God will come through for you with some relief! God knows how much we can bear, and there are times we just need some encouragement, some hope, some Divine intervention! It is my prayer that today God will bring that to you.
As we have travelled to the nations of the world, we have seen incredible outpourings of the fire of the Holy Spirit. I believe this fire comes for so many many reasons, but the one I want to focus on today is the protection it offers from the attacks of the enemy. The destruction it brings to the enemy’s camp!
Many of us know the story in Exodus 14 where God parted the sea for the Israelites. It is one of the greatest miracles recorded in the Old Testament. God parted the ocean and delivered an entire nation from bondage and slavery. And this is very much a picture of our lives. Moses is a type of Christ who came to deliver us from bondage and slavery to the enemy.
As the children of Israel were waiting for the miracle standing on the edge of the sea, they began to panic. With no hope in sight, and with the enemy bearing down on them, it is understandable. Moses says in verse 13 Moses says “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will work for you today.” Then the pillar they were following went behind them and the bible says it was a pillar of cloud and fire (verse 24). A pillar or wall of fire and glory stopped the enemy in it’s tracks!
This great wall of fire separated and protected them from the enemy. Many times just before a miracle happens in our lives, it seems like the enemy tries to throw everything he has at us. The pressure and intensity of the attacks increase as we get closer to the manifestation of a great miracle in our lives. The enemy presses in hard. He comes to try to attack our mind, our faith and put us under pressure so we begin to panic and lose faith in God and His ability.
And that is what happened to the Children of Israel. They cried out in fear and their faith began to waver as the enemy pressed in close and hard. Then this great wall of fire came up as Moses continued to obey God and listen to God. And this wall of fire took the pressure off them so they could focus on God and the miracle they needed. And some of us are that close, we are standing at the edge of the Red Sea waiting for a miracle to happen. We need God to part the Red Sea to get to the next place God has for us. We need a mighty miracle of God!
As we wait many times the enemy comes to pressure us and put thoughts into our heads like ‘your not going to make it’ or ‘God has brought you to this place to allow you to be destroyed’ or ‘maybe God won’t do a miracle’ or ‘you are going to fail.’ And of course you are standing on the edge of the Red Sea with no hope in sight. There is no hope for you unless God does a miracle. You’re in a vulnerable place!
The work of the enemy is to stress you out and get your focus off the faithfulness, goodness and power of Almighty God. Today I am believing, because of what Jesus has done for you a great wall of fire will come and separate you from all the work of the enemy. I am believing for the fire of the Holy Spirit to come and be shield of protection, so the enemy won’t be able to get anywhere near you! If you go camping, you build a fire at night for warmth and to cook food, but it’s also there to ward off wild animals, its’ also there for protection!
In fact wherever we go we should be carrying so much fire wherever we go every work of the enemy is burned up! The enemy hates the fire of the Holy Spirit, he can’t stand it. God wants you to be on fire for God, so hot that the enemy can’t get anywhere near you! That you are able to stand and believe God and see impossible things happen!
And I believe today that as you are standing in the place you are at, that the fire of the Holy Spirit will come to you and begin to consume your life. To begin to prepare you to see this miracle take place. To preserve you and protect until you see God’s miracle manifest in your life. And God had promised the children of Israel and land flowing with milk and honey and as believers all of us have a promised land, a place to inherit and we need God to get us there! The enemy is not going to stop us, we have the fire of the Holy Spirit!
And some of us struggle with the issue of salvation and we wonder whether we are saved and of course God had delivered the children of Israel from Egypt and He had spared them with a great deliverance. At the Red Sea crossing point they began to wonder ‘my goodness I wonder if we are really saved?’ And I just believe God is saying if you are wondering if you are really saved that there is a fire that is going to come which will settle this question in your mind forever! The blood of Jesus paid for you to be protected. When you walk under the blood a fire goes before you consuming the enemy!
I believe the fire of the Holy Spirit will come and consume all those lies. I believe the fire of the Holy Spirit will come as a sign and a wonder to show you that you are a blood bought child of the living God. You are under the protection and care of Almighty God. That you are His child and because of the blood. The fire of the Holy Spirit will come and burn up all the work the enemy has done to try and destroy your precious faith.
And God will work with you as you continue to stand, to keep the enemy at bay until He takes you into all He has planned for you. God has a great plan for your life. He has a promised land for you and He wants you to inherit that land! I want to encourage those of you today who feel you are in that place to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. I am believing God the fire and glory of God to come to your life as a great wall of protection from all of the enemy’s attacks.
In verses 23-25 we see that the pillar of fire sent confusion into the enemy’s camp and started to jam their wheels so they got stuck, and then the Sea swallowed them up. This passage demonstrates the God’s protection is not only defensive but offensive! This fire will bring confusion to the enemy in your life and when God does the miracle you are believing for not only will it bless you and others it will destroy all the work of the enemy. God wants to use you to destroy the work of the enemy in your life for the glory of God! His fire comes to you today to bring you into your God given destiny!
