Against all odds!

Have you ever felt like the odds were stacked against you? Sometimes life can feel like that. Sometimes we can feel like all the forces of hell, all the circumstances of life, everything can seem to feel like it’s conspiring to make life difficult if not impossible for us. Sometimes life can get so difficult, it can be overwhelming. Today I want to encourage you, you can believe God will come through for you against all odds!

The power of words!

When I was a child I remember being taught the song, ‘sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.’ I remember rehearsing the song to try and make myself feel better, but I also remember feeling the sting of hurtful words and the damage they caused. Maybe children need to be taught that words are powerful and the things we say to one another can deeply hurt and impact one another. Proverbs 18:21 MSG tells us “Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit – you choose.” We have the ability to choose the right words and impact our lives and the lives of others with our words!

God will not forsake you!

Today I want to encourage you with a simple truth – God will not forsake you! In Hebrews 13:5 God Himself says “I will never leave you, I will never forsake you.” The Cambridge English dictionary defines the word forsake as: “to leave someone forever, especially when they need you.” The Greek word to forsake is ‘egkataleipó’ which means”to leave in a condition of lack, to leave in a helpless condition, and to leave in dire circumstances.” God will never forsake you, He is watching over you!

Desperate faith!

I often get asked why we see so many miracles at our Gospel Events in the developing world, compared to the developed world. I try to never give a simplistic answer to such a complex question, usually as part of my answer I try to impress upon people the truth that God responds to desperate faith. Many in the developing world have no access to the medical treatment facilities we have in the West, without a miracle some of them will die. They come to our meetings with a faith born out of desperation and God meets them in that place.

Heaven is our destiny!

The destiny of all who have received Christ as Savior is heaven. What a wonderful thought. Heaven is a place where suffering ends, where the light of God shines and where there are no shadows of darkness. Heaven awaits us, heaven is where we will finally feel satisfied, where we will truly find find rest. Abraham knew heaven was his destiny. God spoke to him of a promised land, but he looked beyond this natural land to a land where time ceased, the ultimate fulfillment of the promises of God for his life.

God is willing!

Over the years we have seen thousands of precious people come to the altar, repent of their sins and give their lives to Christ. They come because God is willing to save.

Our job is to believe, to persevere, to keep trusting God. God responds to our faith and determination with a harvest of breakthrough!

Standing in the fire, standing on the water!

In Daniel 3 Jesus, the fourth man stands in the fire waiting, in Matthew 14 Jesus stands on the water waiting. God dwells in the realm of the supernatural, the miraculous and he is like a great faith coach challenging us to do great things. I love how God comes to Abraham at a time when his faith is low and says “look up at the stars and count them. That’s how many descendants you will have!” (Genesis 15:5) Abraham was old, his wife was old, they had no children and yet here was God, encouraging his faith and telling him he would be the father of many nations!

Stepping into the unknown!
