Today I wanted to bring a word of encouragement to you that God hears your prayers! And many of us get discouraged when we don’t see the results of our prayers in the timeframe we would like, we begin to wonder (1) Whether God is listening, (2) Whether God is still in control, (3) Whether God exists, (4) Whether God has forgotten about us, and (5) Whether God is on holiday! Well maybe the last one is more my humor, but sometimes we do wonder where God is when we desperately need an answer to prayer. Today I want to encourage you, God has heard every prayer you have prayed. He holds every tear you cry in a bottle. Psalm 56:8 tells us: “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.” God keeps the score and nothing gets past Him you can be sure of that.
I’m not trying to say God is going to take forever to answer your prayers, what I am trying to say is that He is listening intently to every prayer and in His time He will respond, because He is faithful. Daniel the young prophet cried out to God and within three weeks he had a tremendous response to his prayers. He had an angel visit Him. The angel said to him:
“Don’t be afraid, Daniel. God has heard everything that you said ever since the first day you decided to humble yourself in front of your God so that you could learn to understand things. I have come in response to your prayer. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me for twenty-one days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia.” (Daniel 10:12,13)
I want to point out the Angel said to Daniel, God has heard everything you prayed for, from day one. Think about that. Every prayer you pray God listens to. This passage indicates that many times the enemy is at work to delay answers to prayer. The enemy is at work to delay and discourage. He is at work trying to get you to believe all the things about God I mentioned in the first paragraph of this message.
Hebrews 10:23 says to “to hold unswervingly to the hope you profess, for He who promised is faithful.” Remember that God is listening to every prayer, He has a plan to bring the answer to your prayers. He is in complete control even when the circumstances scream the opposite.
He is real and His answer will demonstrate to to you and others that He is real. He has not forgotten about you and He will never leave you or forsake you. And finally He has not gone on holiday, the Bible tells he never sleeps or slumbers, so even when you are tucked up in bed, sound asleep, God is at work answering your prayers!
Maybe you have waited a long time for God to answer your prayers, and some others have gotten their miracle before you, be encouraged God has not forgotten you, He is no respecter of persons, what He has done for them He will do for you. Don’t be discouraged by delays to your prayers, remember God hears your prayers and the answer is on the way!
