Some of us, in our Christian walk, have been delivered from so many things. God has freed us from Satan’s dominion and transferred us into His Kingdom of light. While there are seasons of rest, in the Kingdom of God, and times when we need to stand still and see God’s salvation, every healthy believer should be moving forward. Our movement in the Kingdom of God should involve advancement and moving deeper into the things of God!
Today, maybe you don’t have that freedom from sin, you don’t have Christ in your heart. I want to encourage you to read our “Meet With God” section on our website. God has so much for you and wants to move you forward. He is right there with you to help you take greater strides in His Kingdom. Sometimes we can be tempted to rest on the laurels of our past victories, but God is challenging us to go further; to take more ground from the enemy in our lives and in the lives of others!
What does it mean to turn back? It means to quit or at least think about giving up your walk with Jesus. When I was in India in February last year, at Dr TL Osborn’s Pastors conference, a young Pastor came up to me and said, “What is the key to success in ministry?” I looked at him and responded with a very simple answer, “Just don’t quit.”
One of the other leaders present there thought I was joking and that my answer was too simplistic, but I was completely serious. I then continued speaking to this young Pastor, “There is something powerful that happens when we simply persevere in the things of God; when we keep looking forward and refuse to look back!”
I want to challenge you today. You have come too far to turn back now. God has done too many miracles in your life for you to even think about turning back. You have seen His hand move too many times in the most difficult of situations. You may feel like things are tough right now, but I want to challenge you to look further and realize there are great things ahead in store for you; be determined to just keep going.
One of my ministry board members has a saying, “Just keep doing what you’re doing, it’s all you can do.” That may not seem very encouraging, but sometimes we need to hear that the right thing to do is to keep doing what is right! We need to persevere; to keep going forward. And that is my point, every time you take another step in the Kingdom of God, you are moving forward, you are gaining ground!
You have too much invested in God and God has too much invested in you for you to turn back now. He will not release His hold on you. God will do what He says and He wants to use you to build His Kingdom. You are very special and valuable to God.
God has paid the price in full for you to be a saved, and you are of infinite worth to God. Some of you have given a hundred percent for so long into the Kingdom of God and have so much invested; refuse to let any of that investment go to waste. God will always reward in due season, if we don’t give up. (Galatians 6:9)
Sometimes we look back and wonder “Where would my life have been if I didn’t follow Jesus?” Or we look at the pleasures that we think the world offers and wonder if maybe the Christian life requires too much sacrifice. Friend, I want to encourage you, the Bible, the Word of God, says that at God’s right hand are eternal pleasures, it says that in His presence there is fullness of joy. You may think of looking back, but it is always a deception of the enemy and without doubt leads to discouragement.
I wrote a song years ago which says “My people, why do you hunger after things that make you more hungry, why do you thirst after things that make you more thirsty … then it goes on to say, God has all that you need.” I believe this day, God has all you need and more. I want to encourage you today to keep your eyes forward; keep them on Jesus and as you do, you will see things happen that will take your breath away. No turning back now, you’ve come way too far! God Bless…
