Recently I have been spending a lot of time thinking about the issue of faith. There are so many wonderful passages of Scripture that deal with this issue, today I want to focus on Galatians 2:20 which tells us "I have been crucified with Christ,...

I remember a number of years ago when we were in India for a Gospel Event, I was with our driver who was telling me how difficult his life was, and how he would drive people around who were much more successful in life than he was. He was feeling a little sorry for himself. I remember asking him if he was a Christian; if he was saved and had Jesus in his heart. He told me he was and I told him if he had Jesus he was saved eternally; he had a relationship with the God of the Universe; he was more blessed than millions of precious people who had never heard or received the Gospel.

My favorite Chapter in the Bible is Hebrews 11, the faith Chapter. As a young Christian I remember being so hungry for the Word of God, and reading the faith Chapter for the first time. I was so struck by the beauty and awesomeness of it. We read how the great Champions of faith achieved great things when they exercised faith in God. Towards the end of the Chapter we read how others endured great suffering in faith and didn’t receive what was promised to them. Faith requires an element of risk, even persecution and suffering. We can be sure that we will never receive the benefits and rewards of faith unless we’re willing to put it into action!

Today I want to take a few moments to consider the call of God. A.R. Bernard said “Our life is our gift from God, what we do with it is our gift to God.” God has a special plan for each and every one of our lives, and discovering that plan and fulfilling our God given destiny is what I believe the Call of God is. God’s call is something I believe weighs on us at times and we sense God’s heart for it; it’s all part of the Divine purpose and destiny God has for our lives.

In the past few days, as we head into the Christmas season, I’ve been spending some time pondering the Christmas story. To bring Jesus into the world, God approached his servant Mary with an incredible responsibility, the birth of the Savior of the world. This was the way God chose way to bring His plan of salvation to humanity. When Jesus was born everything changed. It’s so exciting to be able to celebrate his birth at this time of year! The Christmas story has an incredible build up, and this is where I want to focus my attention today.

Today I want to share a few thoughts about walking on water; living a life of faith and obedience to God. As a ministry we have been walking on water with Jesus for a number of years now, trusting Him to sustain us and our ministry efforts! There have been times when we have stepped out of the boat and walked out so far when we looked back we lost sight of the boat altogether! I’m telling you, there is no better place to be than totally and completely reliant on Jesus!’

I remember reading this passage when I first got saved; “The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5) The New Living translation says, “and the darkness can never extinguish it.” The New American Standard translation says, “the darkness did not comprehend it.” God’s light had shone into the darkest places of my life and I was forever changed. But I remember thinking, ‘what does it mean the darkness cannot comprehend it?’

I don’t know if you played the game “Simon says” when you were a child; the leaders says “Simon says this” and you do it, at some point the leader will say “touch your ears” or something like that and if you do it, you’re out of the game; because the leader didn’t say “Simon says touch your ears.” The game illustrates the necessity and importance of ensuring that you only do something “Simon says” to do. You have to be careful you hear that “Simon says” instruction before you make your move!

Just before I first stepped out in faith for ministry, I went to spend some time on the coast Spain to retreat and seek God. I felt the Spirit of God speak to me from Isaiah 45:2-3 “I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.”

A few years ago, we had the most wonderful move of God break out in a Church in Northern Michigan. The Spirit of God moved so powerfully night after night, we ended up holding meetings for six months! Pastors were restored to the ministry, so many lives were healed, restored and mightily impacted by the Spirit of God. From here people went out into the nations spreading the fire and power of the Holy Spirit.

Today I would like to encourage you with the truth that “God is with you!” Many times, we use this truth to encourage people they are never alone when they have Jesus in their life. And it’s true, being a Christian doesn’t mean you won’t have troubles, but it does mean you won’t have to face them on your own. Jesus will always be there for you! He will never leave you or forsake you! (Hebrews 13:5b)

The whole issue of how God interacts and works with humanity fascinates me. I have a friend who wrote a song about God and one of the lines goes “You are at once an enigma, and then you’re plain as day, I will never claim to understand, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.” For me, these words so appropriately capture what it’s like knowing God. It’s not always easy understanding God and how He operates in this complex world, but it’s wonderfully breathtaking nevertheless! Today I want to consider the issue of when we follow Jesus, are there times where He in turn follows us? That’s an incredible thought!

A number of years ago I had the wonderful privilege of spending time with the great Healing Evangelist Dr TL Osborn. He had so many things to say about life and ministry. One of the things that struck me was his revelation of how important we are to God. He would say things like, “You are of infinite value to God” or “God needs you to be His voice, His hands and feet in this world,” or “The greatest resource we have in life is not money or time, it’s people.’

A number of months ago we were in the nation of Indonesia. We were about half way through a fairly extensive, busy ministry tour of some of the cities on the island of Sumatra. At the close of one the combined Church Gospel Events, we were all standing around outside waiting for our driver. It seemed we were waiting quite some time. At some point I said to the one of the Pastors “Is our driver ready?’ The Pastor said “He’s ready to go, he’s been waiting for you.” We all laughed at that point because we were waiting for the driver and the driver had been waiting for us!

It’s Mother’s Day today in many parts of the world and I wanted to spend a few moments talking about a true mother’s heart. To illustrate this, I want to consider the story of Solomon and the two mothers, recorded in 1 Kings 3. These two mothers had come to the King for judgment concerning their unusual situation. There were two babies, one of their babies had died and they both claimed to be the mother of the living one.

In the past few months we have seen God do so many incredible miracles. When a miracle takes place a person is almost in a state of shock, in a good way! I like to think of a miracle as the opposite of a tragedy. When a tragic event happens, people are horrified, shocked and grieved at the loss suffered. I don’t want to for a moment take these situations lightly, people need our love and compassion, life can be very hard. However, when a miracle takes place, it seems to me, people are equally shocked. It’s like they are living in a dream, and then a wonderful reality and realization begins to set in that God is incredibly good and wants good things for their lives.

We have just come back from the most awesome Gospel Event in Teppi, Ethiopia. It was such a wonderful time! The people kept coming in spite of the rain. The organizers estimate 15,000 people attended on the final night. Hundreds made decisions for Christ. For the remainder of this update I want to share some of the wonderful testimonies!

I want to share a few thoughts with you today about the power of meekness. One of the things I love about the Christian faith is the way it challenges the world’s way of thinking; it is radical faith! Jesus said in Matthew 5:5, “Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth.” The New Living translations says, “God blesses those who are humble, for they shall inherit the whole earth.” Humility, repentance and meekness are all the starting point for receiving God’s blessing, breakthrough and favor! (2 Chron. 7:14)

I remember while in Seminary one of my Professors said “We all want to be out there doing the work of the Kingdom before Christ’s return, but if Jesus returned today, the work you are doing to prepare for the work you will do is just as important to Him!” Preparation is important to God! I had never thought about this much. In my own life, I have always been quick to get out there and get busy for God, but I have learned over time, that God is just as interested in what He is doing in us, as what He is doing through us!

Jesus used so many parables and metaphors to describe the Kingdom of God. Today I want to spend a few moments considering the metaphor of plowing used in Luke 9:62. Jesus said in this passage, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the Kingdom of God.” Plowing is hard work! Jesus in this Scripture is at work preparing us for those time when we can be plowing and feel like giving up. He’s in effect saying ‘I want you to succeed, but I’m preparing you in advance for those tough times that will come, and when they do, don’t give up!’

I want to share with you something that happened on our recent ministry trip to Fiji which I felt was very special. As you will be aware, I was invited to officiate at the wedding of Matthew and Natasha Needham. Matthew is an Evangelist, the best man at the wedding was also an Evangelist, several others attending the wedding were Evangelists. I met with some local Fijian Evangelists. I was surrounded by Evangelists!

As we head into the Festive Season, I want to spend some time considering the motives of our heart and what exactly it is that serves to motivates us. We celebrate Christmas because of God’s great love for us. Love is what motivates God, because God is love. Ultimately our motives determine what drives us and Jesus really got to the heart of the matter when He said to Peter “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” (John 21:15) Peter had denied Jesus and forsaken his heavenly calling and Jesus, in restoring Peter, started with his motive and motivation.

Today I hope you don’t mind if I spend a few moments tackling a subject which is a little more sobering. Just the other day, I was talking with a new believer who was expressing some concerns with me. They were struggling with the reality of the knowledge that while they had been wonderfully saved, their family and friends were still unsaved. They were coming to grips with the reality and implications of it all and it was terribly distressing for them.

Today I want to spend a few moments considering the incredible power of faith. In Matthew 17:20 Jesus said “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” The disciples had unsuccessfully been trying to cast a demon out of a little boy. The father had come to them in desperation for help and they could do nothing. They came to Jesus wondering why they couldn’t help, everyone’s faith was low. Jesus took this opportunity to build their faith.

Proverbs 28:19a tells us, “where there is no vision the people perish.” Our ability to dream, I believe, is one of the things which sets us apart in all of God’s creation. We are made in God’s image and having a dream for the future, is what we are created to do. When we don’t function that way we lose our hope and sense of purpose in life. The ability to dream and see it’s fulfillment is a wonderful God-given privilege. In life there are many ways in which our dreams can be challenged and today I want to encourage you; if you have a God-given dream for your life, don’t give up on your dreams!

Last night I was up late sharing the gospel with a unsaved family member. He was very interested and had many questions. Every person is at their own stage when it comes to what they believe about Jesus, and people need to come to their own conclusions and have their own revelation of who Jesus is; it is our place to allow them the time to do just that. Jesus asked Peter in Mark 8:29 “But who do you say I am?” Jesus spent months, even years with Peter and the other disciples; yet in all that time, Jesus had never really come out and said who He was. He wanted Peter to come to his own conclusions.

Today I want to take a few moments to consider the issue of the relationship between love and faith. In 1 Corinthians 13, the love chapter, it’s very clear how we can do so many things in life for God, but without a motive of love it’s meaningless.

There are so many signs of the end times in our day; our day is very similar in our day to the days of Noah. Jesus said in Matthew 24: 3- 39 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

Habakkuk 3:17-18 tells us “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

Today I want to encourage you that as you continue to follow Jesus, you will grow and increase in favor. Luke 2:52 tells us that “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” Obedience to God, brings favor. Jesus did what he saw the Father do and because of that, God said of Jesus “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.”

Today I want to encourage you to keep trusting God! Life is full of challenges and dilemmas; things can happen which cause us to wonder where God is. Due to the extremity of our circumstances, we can sometimes feel as though we have lost our faith and trust in God.

Today I want share a few thoughts on relationship with God and how it increases our faith and releases miracles and breakthroughs from heaven. How the impact of our relationship with God will draw others into relationship with God.

This past week has been a difficult one for me and my family. My Mum suddenly and unexpectedly passed on Sunday April 12. We held her funeral service this past Saturday. Hundreds of people attended and many sent messages to the family from around the world. We were overwhelmed with all the expressions of love and support.

Today I would like to consider the issue of how we view God and how this can profoundly affect our faith. How our perspective of God can impact our expectation of God. I am currently in the process of completing a book on theological balance. My study in this area has lead me to conclude that our theology totally informs our worldview.

Iwant to take a moment to talk about keeping a good attitude in the midst of God’s preparation process. David’s process to becoming King of Israel is a wonderful example of how to do things well in this area. As a young man, David was anointed as King over Israel and yet for many years, he had to wait for God’s time to bring him into the fullness of his destiny.

There are so many things I love about the Christian faith and gospel. One of the things I appreciate the most is the power that it brings to change lives from situations of hopelessness and despair to situations of breakthrough, victory and life! When Jesus launched His ministry, he read from Isaiah 61, “the Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.

I’d like us to take a few moments to consider the story of Abel’s sacrifice, as recorded in Genesis Chapter 4. Abel’s sacrifice was a lamb, and because he offered it in faith, with the right kind of attitude, it was pleasing to God. Abel’s sacrifice was a type of us today and our faith in Christ, the ultimate sacrifice for all sins.

Today I want to encourage you no matter how hard the struggles of your life are, Jesus understands far more than you even think. You may even be doubting His existence, or doubting His power to change your circumstances. Even as you are doing these things He is watching waiting for an opportunity to sneak up on you.

When I was a child living in New Zealand we would go out to the country and visit friends who had farms. As kids we would love to go exploring everywhere, and there were times when all of sudden we would stop because there would be a wire stretched across the middle of a field.

God led Moses and as many as 2 million Israelites out into the wilderness, they had no food or water and no means of sustenance. God did it for His own reasons. It says in Deuteronomy 8:3: “So he humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live on bread alone;

Today, I would like to encourage you with the thought that ‘God is a God of restoration.’ When God restores, He restores back with double and more than what we have lost. You may have been through some trials and tough times, but God wants to bless you abundantly. Sometimes we go through things in life and our character and our faith is tested.

Hebrews 11:6 tells us without faith it’s impossible to please God. And God is not easily impressed. When you have created everything, you ultimately own everything. When you’re all powerful, there’s nothing you cannot do. When you have seen nations come and go and have existed in eternity past, there’s nothing you have not seen. There’s very little left to be impressed with.

As we enter 2013 with a sense of great anticipation, I want to encourage all of our ministry supporters that I believe this year is a year of great favor, deliverance and breakthrough for your life. Many of you have supported us in different ways and we pray regularly for each of you, that God will bless you to overflowing with the blessing of God. I want to remind you today, that because of what Jesus did on the cross, it is a time of great favor for you!

In recent times it seems there has been an increase in controversy in the body of Christ. I have been following Charisma magazine and their articles warning about this area of heresy or bizarre practice, warning of untouchable preachers doing things seemingly above the law of God, doing whatever they please with no accountability. It seems there is so much going on with in the body of Christ, which just makes no sense.

Last month I had the privilege of spending some time with the legendary Healing Evangelist TL Osborn. A group of us spent time with him at his office and then we went out and had lunch together. What amazed me was that at 87 years old all he wanted to talk about with us was the things of God. He was more on fire for God than all of the rest of us combined!

Today I wanted to bring a word of encouragement to you that God hears your prayers! And many of us get discouraged when we don’t see the results of our prayers in the timeframe we would like, we begin to wonder (1) Whether God is listening, (2) Whether God is still in control, (3) Whether God exists, (4) Whether God has forgotten about us, and (5) Whether God is on holiday! Well maybe the last one is more my humor, but sometimes we do wonder where God is when we desperately need an answer to prayer.

When I was a child, I remember my father telling people ‘he went through the school of hard knocks.’ Of course he was referring to how how life had taught him some lessons that he had learned the hard way. My father wanted me to do things differently. He wanted me to be educated. To honor his memory, I’ve spent many years of my life studying business and then theology.

As we have traveled throughout the United States and the nations of the world, God has placed a mandate on this ministry to preach a message about the transforming power of the fire of the Holy Spirit. And many of us know the Holy Spirit comes in many ways, in Acts Chapter 2 he came like a mighty rushing wind, and a flame of fire.

Today you may be struggling with many things in your life. I want you to take a few moments to receive and meditate on some encouraging thoughts from this ministry. God has a plan to bless you! It may be tough for you right now, and you may not be seeing much of God’s blessing, but I want to encourage you to hang in there. God wants to give you the faith of Abraham who left all he had in obedience to the voice of God.

For some time I have felt the need to prepare a study in defense of the theology and reality of hell. If you don’t have time to read the entire study, I have opened this study with a summary of the key findings / thoughts so you can take a minute to review them, and decide whether you have time to review the entire document.

The book of Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us that “to everything there is an appointed season. And there is a time for every event under heaven.” Nature itself tells us that the sun goes down the sun comes up, the tides comes in and the tide goes out, there is a time to sow and a time to reap, a time of promise and a time of fulfilment.

Today I want to encourage you, God is in control in the storms of your life. I also want to encourage you, that you may be closer to reaching your destination than you realize. There is a notion within the Church that when you are in God’s will, things will go easily and smoothly for you and there will not be any adversity, however in all my study of

Sometimes it feels like God has forgotten us, there are times we pray and cry out to God and the answer doesn’t seem to come when we really need it or when we expect it. Maybe today you are feeling that sense of hopelessness and despair, maybe you are tired of believing God for impossible things.

God came to Abraham and he said “Go forth from your country, and from your relatives and from your father’s house, to the land which I will show you; and I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and so you shall be a blessing; and I will bless those who bless you,

In my home country New Zealand we have a national anthem which is a prayer to God, the first verse goes: God of nations at Thy feet, in the bonds of love we meet, hear our voices, we entreat, God defend our Free Land. Guard Pacific’s triple star, from the shafts of strife and war, make her praises heard afar, God defend New Zealand.

“It is finished!” The great revivalist Leonard Ravenhill said that these were ‘the greatest words ever uttered by the greatest man who ever lived!’ I believe it. Jesus Christ came to this earth to change the course of human history, to redeem and restore fallen humanity and finally his mission was complete when uttered these powerful words “It is finished!”.

I have a ministry supporter and every time they see me they say “suddenly!” It is one of those private jokes no one else is privy to, but they are referring back to a meeting where I was ministering on the suddenlies of God, and the place was shaken with the power of God in an incredible way.

Recently God has been challenging me of the importance of loving Him more than anything else. How much are we willing to do to follow Jesus? Jesus said “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my disciple.” (Luke 14:26) And Jesus is not wanting us to hate our family members,

There are times when the circumstances in our lives can cause our faith to waver. It’s easy to say I have faith and I’m trusting God when things go well, but when things get tough it can be hard to say with Job “though He slay me yet will I trust Him.” (Job 13:15) Like Peter on the water when things are going smoothly

Suffering! “Don’t talk to me about suffering you sicko,” is a common response to the issue of suffering. Most people think it’s weird to talk about suffering as being part of the Christian walk. They say “get a positive attitude, get a life, don’t dwell on that stuff, it’s depressing.” I remember when I first came to Christ a zealous young Christian told me he was willing to suffer and die for Christ.

Many times we find ourselves in circumstances not of our choosing and we say ‘God how did I get into this mess?’ ‘You have made all these promises and like Joseph who was thrown into prison, I am so far from what you have promised it seems unfair.’

Today I want to take a few moments to talk about Jesus, as the Lord of the harvest. Jesus said in Matthew 9:38-39 “Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few; Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Jesus is the Lord of the harvest and he has the ability to create and produce the harvest!

Sometimes we feel like everything has been taken from us and we’re left with nothing. In John 10:10 Jesus tells us “the their comes to steal, to kill and destroy, but I have come that they might have life, and life abundantly!” The devil takes, and God gives. There are also situations in life where we go through things and there is absolutely no explanation that makes any sense.

When Jesus was about to be crucified Pilate asked the crowd “What shall I do then with Jesus who is called Christ?” (Matthew 27:22) Pilate made the decision that Jesus was innocent, but he gave the crowd a decision to make concerning His fate. And there is something about Jesus, that requires a decision from all of us. C.S. Lewis said ” You can shut him up for a fool,

Luke 23:46 tells us that Jesus’ final words on the Cross were “Father, into your hands I commit my Spirit.” Jesus was quoting from Psalm 31, a passage which has Messianic references. It amazes me that even in His dying breath, Jesus quotes the Word of God. Of course the Bible tells us that Jesus was the Word incarnate. So it’s no surprise that He’s quoting Scripture at

Today I want to encourage you with the thought that God does not change. Malachi 3:6a says “I am the Lord, I change not.” Hebrews 13:8 tells us “Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever.” Jesus power has not diminished, the miracles He did in His earthly ministry, He is will do for you today. It’s as we place our faith in His faithfulness, His unchanging nature, that our faith connects with His miracle working power.

Today I want to share a few thoughts about the prodigal son’s elder brother. The “Prodigal Son” parable is a wonderful story of God’s love for a wayward son; a wonderful story of God’s grace, salvation and restoration. As a ministry we have had the privilege of seeing thousands of wayward people, leave their lifestyle of sin and walk into the embrace of a loving heavenly Father.

The Bible tells us in Isaiah 40:31 that “they that wait upon Lord shall renew their strength, they shall sour on wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Jesus told his disciples in Luke 24:49 “Wait here in the city until you receive power from heaven.

Today I want to talk to you about the importance of praying from a place of victory. In 1 Kings 18:42b, the Bible says “But Elijah climbed to the top of Mount Carmel and bowed low to the ground and prayed with his face between his knees.”

A few months back, while ministering in Johannesburg, South Africa, a Pastor friend of mine shared something with me, that I want to share with you today. He had given up a very successful career to pursue the call of God on his life. He then felt the Spirit of God whisper to his heart telling him that everything he had given up from the moment (starting with his career) was a seed, sown into the Kingdom of God.

Over this Easter period I have been spending some time contemplating the story of Judas. Judas’ story has a very sad and tragic ending, but I want to take a moment to consider the revelation Judas had about the blood of Jesus. Judas was struck with deep conviction, remorse and a profound revelation that the blood of Jesus was innocent.

When it comes to the Word of God and the things God speaks or does, just one word, a phrase or an action can have a myriad of facets and meanings. I have been spending some time contemplating some of the things Jesus said and did on the cross, and am convinced that there are depths to our understanding of Christ’s finished work which may take eternity for us to fathom.

Leonard Ravenhill said “The opportunity of a lifetime, must be seized within the lifetime of the opportunity.” When my grandfather was eleven years old, he made a decision for Christ at an Evangelistic event. He said an unspeakable joy entered his heart and never left him all his life. I always remember my grandfather being full of joy, the life of the party.

I would like to take a moment to wish all of our supporters a very Merry Christmas! Christmas is a time where we celebrate the love of family and friends and give each other gifts.
